20 mile ride

Today I had my first 20 mile ride and I am wiped but so proud of myself! I spent half of my ride listening to my music and the other half working with the "spin trainer". This also happened after a whole day of moving boxes and furniture in the effort to prepare for tomorrow.

Unfortunately it is almost 8 on Sunday night and I have done nothing to prepare for school tomorrow but that is ok. :) I will go to a website and order the thing I need for school. This week is going to be:

a) busy

b) stressful

c) one where I cannot wait for Saturday to roll around

I also started working with a trainer and I have been so sore but so thrilled with the awesome progress I am making. So thrilled in fact that I had to go clothes shopping on Saturday for some things that fit. And I am debating joining a cycling club...

Biking Shorts and A family update

So I am finally home from work... I left at 6:15 and got home shortly after 5:30. I am wiped but now that my weird rash is gone I have committed to getting back in the gym every day. This leads me to my bizarre thoughts about my biking shorts.

1. I feel like I am a diaper wearing fool. That padding is thick!

2. Since I have lost 23 pounds I always feel like they are going to fall off and I am constantly pulling them up.

3. You can't wear them with underwear because they are meant to stop the rash and therefor they must be washed after every use. Not a problem right now but let's fast forward to the kitchen remodel. I better get very familiar with hand washing.

Aside from my thoughts on my shorts I am so PROUD of myself for staying with this diet and for continuing to work had to obtain a physical shape that I like. I am almost there! I have more energy and am feeling better than I have in a long, long, time.

As for the rest of the peeps this blog is about...

Reid is super busy with work and he is having his Third Molars aka Wisdom Teeth removed on Thursday. I am really not sure how to feel about that, but it gives me a day to stay home and have a nap. The kitchen is coming along. I sacrificed a lot to get the backslpash and bar I wanted and I cannot wait for it to be put together.

The dogs are good. Duke was really sick a few weeks back but is doing ok now. Olive is still my girl and has recently had some quality time with me in the evening which always ends in Reid exclaiming she has tried to bite him. I have to laugh at that every time. And little Grey is still little, she is tipping the scales at 7 pounds. Reid does not even consider her a pet because she is not hard to take care of. :)

I have been sooooo sleepy!

This diet has been kicking my butt! I feel great I am losing weight and getting to the gym more regularly, and of course my preferred activity is spinning. I am finding that it is not so hard to stop eating at 3. What I have found shocking is that I am starting to prefer my water without any citrus added. Reid and I made a special trip to Amarillo yesterday to go to the oral surgeon (not sure if I am sold on the guy) and to order our kitchen cabinets; afterwards Reid really wanted to eat at Red Lobster so we went. I agreed to eat a small meal with him because we NEVER get to go out and it was so nice!

I managed to eat broccoli, rice, and 12 (yes I counted) miniature pieces of shrimp. I had ordered water with lemon and the whole time I thought it tasted strange. Not my usual attitude because I used to love lemon in water.

Last week I got a monster rash after wearing pants that were too big (I am so happy about that!) and then getting off the bike I had chaffing and irritation all over my thighs and it was not fun! So I broke down and ordered some cycling shorts that came in the mail on Monday. They are in the dryer right now and I am so excited to use them!

Anyway another awesome result from this diet is that between 8 and 9 I am ready to go to sleep, and I can without any problems!

Backtracking

This holiday season has been full of back tracking on my diet due to hours of wonderful family gatherings. I anticipate they will be slowing down for a while, at least until we go to Lubbock. I hopefully will get back on track with my diet starting today.

I am going to log some extra time on the spinner today and strength train this evening. I also plan on resuming the salad lunches today.

I also have to run to Amarillo for a doctor's appointment today so I will stop over at home depot and look at a few things regarding the kitchen and price a few things out. I am so ready to get the ball rolling on my new kitchen! Yay!

What A Wonderful Gift from God

I am up early this Christmas morning which is fine because I am glad to have the solitude to marvel in the wonder of the Christ child and the miracle that is his birth.

I am so deeply impressed with all the parties involved in the birth of Jesus. I am in awe of the faith and courage that Mary had to carry a child for 9 months even though in that time it was very shameful. I am also impressed by the love that Joseph had for Mary to stay by her even if an angel of the lord had to appear to him. I am impressed with the magi who believed in the prophecy and went searching for the Prince of Peace and then had the courage to avoid Herod so that he might live. Lastly I am glad for the Sheppards and their role in the worship of the Christ Child.

The following is taken from Luke 2 verses 8-14 of the King James Version Text:

8- And there were in the same country sheppards abiding in the field keeping watch over their flock by night.

9- And, lo, an angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10- And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for. behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11- For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12- And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13- And suddenly there was with angel a multitude of heavenly hosts praising God, and saying,

14- Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace, good will toward men.

I am so thankful for this day where we remember the LOVE that our Heavenly Father had for us at that time to send his only son to earth to teach us, love us, die for us, and then ultimately live again so that we too may live again.

I hope you all have a merry Christmas and enjoy your family in an ever increasing manner.

Nice Husbands and a Sick Stomach

First of all I would like to start off this post by saying what an exceptional spouse I have. Reid is very supportive of me and yesterday when I was vomiting he was nice enough to give me that post throw up space I often need. When he got home from work I was babysitting some wonderful children and he proceeded to play with them until their mom came to get them.

The diet yesterday was really rough hence the throwing up. I did not even try to brave a salad for lunch I instead had 2 slices of wheat bread and a dab of peanut butter. I rested for a long time and eventually felt immensely better. I hit the gym around 8:30 and slept really well last night so I am going to attempt to do that again this evening.

I am very ready for tomorrow and am feeling very fortunate this year.

Wednesday Success

Typically Wednesdays are the final nail in my coffin I do rather hate them! But, this one was not so bad. I started the day off with my shake, Strawberry, (shudder) I think I will stick to Chocolate when it is time to buy more. After that I snuggled with grey, did a lot of laundry, and then got moving onto bigger tasks.

Yesterday I was a bit sick to my stomach but I know that is the hunger talking because I feel like that 30% of the time in the morning. I managed to bake an AWESOME birthday cake and not eat any of it. It was a huge hit at the party! Damian LOVED it and was so excited all he could think about was his cake.

I also found time to clean out a closet yesterday and make a lot of trash. I had a salad with chicken and 1 tablespoon of salad dressing. Well within my limits. I do not think I stayed as hydrated as I would have liked to yesterday. But sometimes there is only so much water you can drink.

I also hit the gym for 35 minutes yesterday and did 11.1 miles.

On a note other than diet... my friend Stacy and her family bought me what I have been dreaming to have... Chanel perfume for Christmas! I am so blessed to be around such wonderful loving people.

Still formulating my Christmas day plans and debating cheating a smidgen since I have already begun losing weight :)
